Drainage Trenching

Excavation of trenches for storm drains, pipes, cables and sub-surface drainage, with safe shoring and backfill.

About Drainage Trenching

Drainage Trenching

We excavate trenches to the depth, width and gradient needed for drains, water pipes, cable ducts or French drains. Trench sides are supported or battered back where depth demands it, and trenches are backfilled and compacted after pipes or ducts are laid.

What we do

  • Setting out of the trench line and gradient
  • Excavation by machine, or by hand near services
  • Trench support or battering for safety where needed
  • Bedding preparation for pipes or ducts
  • Backfilling in layers with compaction
  • Reinstatement of the surface

What we need from you to quote

  • Route, total length, depth and width of the trench
  • Type and diameter of the pipe or duct to be laid
  • Required gradient or invert levels from the design
  • Ground type, groundwater and known obstacles such as rock or roots
  • Locations of existing pipes, cables or septic tanks
  • Surface to be reinstated, for example soil, concrete or paving
