Pasture Establishment

Preparation, planting and early management of improved pasture and fodder grasses for cattle, goats and sheep.

About Pasture Establishment

Pasture Establishment

We prepare the land and plant grasses and legumes such as Brachiaria, Napier, Rhodes grass, lucerne or desmodium according to your climate and livestock type. A well-established pasture gives more feed per acre and reduces reliance on bought-in feed.

What we do

  • Selection of pasture species suited to soil and rainfall
  • Land clearing, ploughing and seedbed preparation
  • Sowing of seed, cuttings or splits at the recommended rate
  • Fertiliser or manure application where advised
  • Early weed control and gap filling
  • Guidance on first grazing or cutting and paddock management

What we need from you to quote

  • Acres available and their location
  • Type and number of livestock to be fed
  • Soil, rainfall and altitude information
  • Existing vegetation and weeds on the land
  • Whether seed or planting material is supplied by you or us
  • Water points and fencing for paddocks
